This week we break down the book Nonviolent Communication and the process of NVC laid out by the author Marshall B. Rosenberg Ph.D. Don't let the title distract you from the root of the message. The book is about distinguishing between what we observe and how we evaluate, learning to separate judgement from discussion, identifying ours and others needs, and learning how to request what we need to satisfy those needs. The book is very eye opening and one that we have already found value in implementing into our lives and we imagine that you will as well.

In our very first episode we talked about the idea of "What makes you think your thoughts are real?" It's an interesting thought. we often don't realize just how much our imagination shapes our reality. We tend to fill in the blanks with our thoughts that may or may not be true. This can be a gift and a curse. In this episode we talk about three distinguishing between Noticing, Imagining, and Feeling and how these words/concepts are how we shape our reality.

How many times have you thought of doing something, or even said out loud you would do something and just didn't follow through? Are you someone that likes to plan or someone that just gets going? In this episode we discuss the importance of taking action, the issues we run into when we plan and don't do, seeing the big picture goals, the beauty in taking small actions over time, and how Drew and Aaron operate differently in this regard.
We also have a pretty HUGE announcement at the end which we're very excited about so tune in and enjoy!

When you hear the word stereotype, what is the first thing that comes to mind? Is it negative? Often it is. In this episode we look at stereotypes as a concept. What is the good, the bad, and the ugly of it. How do stereotypes help guide us in business, help create the first impression we desire, help guide the people we look to bring in. In life, how do stereotypes hold us back and effect us. It's a deep topic, but a really great discussion!

Passion is something a lot of people talk about but it doesn't seem we focus on it enough. In this episode we discuss passion vs talent, identifying the things that we are passionate about, focusing on the things that tend to be a waste and trap our time, the difference between a hobby, a job, a career, and a vocation, and much much more!

This week's episode is a must listen... for several reasons. We're diving into the phrase "Common Sense" but we're not alone. Our friends from the Buckhorn Podcast (Randy and Brandon) join us and we also had a very special surprise visit from our good friend Dr. Richard Ulm!
The five of us look at the literal definition of common sense, what it actually means versus how it is generally used, why it can be a trap when misused or not understood, AND why you should probably remove the term from frequent use.
The antics get the right amount of crazy but the discussion is really fun as five completely different personalities and backgrounds work through their views on the topic and what it means to them!
Be sure to stop over and check out out friends at The Buckhorn Podcast!
